After the laser was discovered in the 20th century, with its high energy, monochromaticity, and directional emission characteristics, it has been widely used in many fields such as industry, military, communications, and medical care, and has made important contributions to the development of human society. However, laser is also a double-edged sword. It can intelligently create everything and promote social progress; if used improperly, it can also cause certain harm to the human body.

The wavelength of the laser is 1060-1080nm, which is invisible light, which is more harmful.

Therefore, in the process of using laser equipment, you must follow the correct operation requirements and do a good job of self-protection. Safety glasses must be worn when operating laser equipment.

Laser protective glasses selection guide

1. Laser characteristics:

Choose reasonably according to the output wavelength and power density of the laser.

2. Optical Density (OD):

The larger the OD value, the stronger the protective ability of laser protective glasses.

3. Visible Light Transmittance (VLT):

The VLT value is less than 20%, and laser protective glasses need to be used in a good lighting environment.

4. The lens material is non-toxic, odorless and non-irritating.

5. The protective goggles should be able to protect the side laser from damage, and should not cause reflection laser damage to others.

Industrial processing lasers belong to the four types of lasers. The laser beam can cause irreversible damage to the human body, burn the skin and damage the eyes. Eyes should be protected at all times. Never put your eyes directly at the laser output port to avoid injury. Do not use reflective materials to block the laser beam, so as not to injure others after the laser beam is reflected. Do not allow the emitted beam to reach the eye position at any time. In addition, the laser beam may ignite or detonate flammable and explosive materials. Be careful when processing such materials.

Safety signs during laser operation

Before using the laser, make sure that all connections and electrical wiring are connected properly, all housings of the equipment are covered and all screws have been tightened to ensure electrical safety while preventing laser leakage.

It is forbidden for untrained personnel to use laser equipment. Before switching on the AC mains power supply, ensure that the mains power supply is well connected to reduce the possibility of electric shock and prevent personal injury due to humidity and leakage. Use laser equipment in strict accordance with the operating sequence.
